Pike Labs Applies For Seed Grant
Wednesday, 14 March 2007
Pike Agri-Lab Supplies, Inc. Will be applying for the Maine Technology Institute’s seed grant in regards to our proposed wireless sensor network of temperature profiling probes and compost suite software.

Bob Pike came up with the idea of a wireless temperature profile probe nearly 2 years ago before any others had hit the market. The idea is very close to reaching the prototype stage and is a very exciting project indeed.

With the help of Ogy Nikolic of Ogo Sense, the idea has evolved into automatically collecting data from the probes into a control unit, and then have an LCD handheld device to analyze the data and to collect and transport the data to a computer, where using this very website, you will be able to analyze the compost and allow access to the information, anywhere in the world.

The compost suite that we have already built into the site but have not activated, will allow all sorts of analysis including a color coded cross section of the windrow / windrows made possible due to our 4 sensors up the length of the probe which give the temperature at different heights.

Our proposed system will allow almost limitless amounts of probes in many windrows to collect data at a time.
